baby 3 updates

had my scan today...she gave a photo to micah for being well behaved!! so here is sleeping baby #3
if you can't tell, number 2 is the top of his/her head and number 1 the babies right eye...you can see the nose as well, but then the left eye is in the shadow...
all was well, only the tummy measured big, but everything else was fine, so hopefully all maybe well for our birthing options. i think though we may just go for the birthing center again, as it will be the cheapest option really. i do want a water birth, so if we go to the center then we don't have to even think about hiring a birthing pool and all that stuff!

our newest arrival.

not that one...
but a fun new toy just arrived this morning and i am soooooooo excited!!! its a beautiful new camera lense (14mm and 2.8) :

002

for picture 1 and 3, i was standing in the exact same position. so the same distance away from micah (except that he stood up for the second one.) so that is the vast difference between ournew 14mm lense and our old 50mm one. and picture 4? i was leaning against the back door and that is literally our whole backroom! with our other lense you wouldn't be able to see that wall to wall... wow! i am so loving this!!! we found it on ebay for about £300 cheaper then buying it new =) i can't wait to play some more!!!

here i am with 5weeks and 2 days to go....

24 April 2008

well...

i had the midwife over today and i am still measuring a little bit big, so i have to go and have a growth scan they call it. SO this also means that until i have that a homebirth is still up for questioning... and if i am definitely on the big side, then a home birth AND the midwife run birthing center is out. yuck. not nice! so pray that the measurements the midwives have gotten are off and baby is normal size!
for my mom...the heart beat was 148 (was 145 two weeks ago).

way too tired to be up...

...but i was on a roll fixing photos from the last few weeks (i finally have a new version of photoshop and on this computer! woo-hoo) and i wanted to post before going off to bed.

the last 2 days have been gorgeous weather where one of the boys has had short-sleeves on to play out in the garden! so here a few:

baking disaster

i tried making some chocolate cupcakes last night...but it didn't turn out too well. i have made them before without any trouble but well, i didn't have all the exact ingredients and this is what happened:

they totally overflowed, went crusty around the top edges and was still cakey at the bottom.
*edited*
yes, they were still edible. though it took a while to scrap them into a bowl, we then added ice cream on top and it was nice, though dissappointing =)

sleep

its weird how just some extra sleep can make you feel better... during my shower this morning i was a bit uncomfortable, kinda under my bump or at the bottom of my bump hurt. i tried laying down but micah was still hungry so we came downstairs and i started feeling hot and shaky, so i just gave micah a biscuit to get him off my case and i got myself some water and went upstairs to lay down and i think i actually slept for an hour or so! micah and noah kept coming in, but they were watching little bear on the computer so they were mostly occupied and didn't need me! and now, i think i just feel a wee bit hungry but the pain i think is gone! i even just put in a load of laundry and put out 3 fires with micah!!
so sleep..it cures most everything!

baby 3 updates

i can't believe that i have less than 2 months to go! that is a wee bit scary! i went of my 32 weeks midwife appointment and all is well though i was measuring a bit big. my fundal height they measured at 34 cm though the student midwife measured 33 and 1/2. but still both were slightly over what the charts said. so at the next visit, besides talking about a home delivery, if i still measure big, then i'll be sent for another scan to make sure all is ok. the same thing happened with micah, measuring big (though the scan turned out that all was fine and normal) and then he ended up coming 3 weeks early =) so whether this might happen again i don't know. i don't think i'd mind all too much though!
so yes we are thinking about a home delivery. i am not 100% sure, but am thinking why not? with micah i had no drugs or anything and with noah i used gas and air although i didn't see much help with that, i can still have that option with a homebirth... though i do still want a water birth too. which you can have at home as well...you just rent a birthing pool and set it up in your own home! sounds like an adventure anyway!! we'll see =)
also the fetal heart rate was 145...my mom always asked for that information, so i don't know if it indicates anything either way! my brother and his wife who are due i think may 20th or 22nd are having a boy...and andy's sister is due may 25th doesn't know what she is having..i have only seen a picture of her and her bump but she is carrying it lower than she did luke (who will be 3 this summer) so i'm thinking she'll maybe have a girl. me (june 4th), i feel about the same as i did with micah and noah, atleast i mean to say i feel like i look the same. but my symptoms have been slightly different this time around. so? who knows!! i did have a dream that i had a girl and karen and a boy the night before us!

easter break

as usual its been awhile since i've written! what's new..

so easter sunday we left for a week in wales. between the snow flurries, it was a nice day and the journey was good. i *think* it took us 4ish hours, maybe a bit more to get to the west coast of wales in a little village called Llenbedr (a double l in welsh i think is like a 'cl' sound...) about a mile and a half off the main road, up a mountain (hillside) into like a valley, past 4 cattle grids and a stream and thousands of sheep, we found our cottage, Cilcychwyn:

micah and sarah enjoying their first morning together watching cartoons!

the cottage had a wonderful open fire place, so every morning and every evening we enjoyed a nice roaring fire! monday afternoon we went into Barmouth (picture to the left) which was 7 miles south on the coast.

tuesday we stayed in all day and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, watched pride and prejudice, read books and what not!

wednesday we went to harlech which is just 3 miles north, but we went up and over the mountain and it took a bit longer as andy had to keep getting out to open gates to let the car through! we had lunch at the pie shop then went into the castle. it was good fun and i even managed to climb up to the top!! the boys all climbed up the another bit to get to the very very top, but i thought i'd stay down below with sarah and let simon and esther do some climbing! that evening andy and i went out for a meal in porthmadog. the grapevine it was called...very nice though i ordered a cajun chicken meal that was way too spicy!! so i didn't eat a huge amount!

thursday was a nice day so we went down the road to campsite/river walk where there is a nice waterfall. we had a picnic lunch then went for the walk. was nice but tiring ;) pictures all to come! that night, simon and esther went out for their meal while we watched sarah!

friday we went back to porthmadog for a fish and chip lunch. the guys took the children to the park while esther and i did a wee bit of shopping. we then went to the festinnog railway, but didn't take a trip on the train as it was a long journey and we weren't prepared for that. but micah got a thomas flashlight and noah got some little thomas books...sarah even got a wooden train that was green and purple!

we had a nice meal that night, got all the children into bed and then enjoyed dessert and a last game of scrabble! so all in all, it was a lovely week. a wee bit wet, but we were able to get out and about, yet still relax and enjoy ourselves!
