some photos of philip and deborah

as we were in the city centre, i took the chance to take some photos of phil and deb. thought i would work on my portfolio =) we have maybe 2 engagement sessions coming up as my friend naomi just got engaged last night! (she went to france with timothy and his parents and their first night there, he proposed!) can't wait to hear all the details =) we had already planned to have a session with them as my models. but now that they are engaged, it just makes it all the better! also have a e-session with katie and andy. katie is the other year5 teacher with my andy. they got engaged in stratford about a month ago! we will perhaps go back to stratford for that session!!

anyway, at the moment i am enjoying a nice sunny day! we haven't had any rain in about 3, possibly 4 days now! amazing!
so the boys have been outback since around 11 in the water =) andy went to school today to pick up his bike...but he got on the wrong train! good thing he didn't have to work today! so he called to ask directions for walking from a different station! still waiting for him to come home again =)
tomorrow is my turn to go out by myself. i need to return some stuff to NEXT and maybe have a look for a wedding outfit. andy's cousin sharon is getting married on the 10th over in belfast, well, over in NI anyway! we will be in belfast for almost 2 weeks! looking forward to that as we may take a few days to go camping, just andy and i!! just 2 nights, but we've never left the boys over night and i am totally looking forward to the possibility!

the house is quiet...

we had a late night last night, as in 10 o'clock for most everyone. noah woke up at 6 and was up for an hour or so. i put him back down just after 7, with andy and micah still sleeping! so i have the house (computer and dvd player) all to my self!! yippee!

its so wierd to have such an empty house after houseing 9+ people over the last 2 weeks *not all at the same time* and during the days last week we had up to 14 people!! i am sad its over as it was a lot of fun, but it is nice to have some peace and quiet! but thanks to all you who were here (karen, luke, jo, stephen, philip, deborah, nathan, sam, armand, lois, jemima, sophie, shiela and avril) you all are the best!!

so now our summer officially starts. school is out for the summer, our outreach week has ended, now we have 5 weeks to have fun? get things done? search for a car? who knows!! for now, we'll enjoy public transport=)

i'm still working on photos, but promise to post when i can!
*blessings*

what do you think? more photos?

i don't really have much to write about. our week is going well. yesterday we had a beautiful day. we all got out in the afternoon for the childrens club and there were 5-7 children there. in the evening after dinner we went into birmingham city to have a walk about. there were about 4 in the group who hadn't been to brum yet so we had a wee tour around. starting at the bullring, viewed selfridges, tasted the ice cream at morelli's (apple and blood orange) walked up new street to the floozy in the jacuzzi =) to symphony hall and 'our bridge' *where andy proposed to me* and down the canals back to the mailbox! it was a great evening and enjoyable!

so we have 10 people over then andy, me and the boys. noah is walking a wee bit here and there. but not continuously (sp?) though he is standing himself up when he can and clapping over it!! we'll get there soon!!

Seagull becomes crisp shoplifter

The seagull has been nicknamed Sam by locals
Shoplifting seagull A seagull has turned shoplifter by wandering into a shop and helping itself to crisps.
The bird walks into the RS McColl newsagents in Aberdeen when the door is open and makes off with cheese Doritos.
The seagull, nicknamed Sam, has now become so popular that locals have started paying for his crisps.
Shop assistant Sriaram Nagarajan said: "Everyone is amazed by the seagull. For some reason he only takes that one particular kind of crisps."
The bird first swooped in Aberdeen's Castlegate earlier this month and made off with the 55p crisps, and is now a regular.
Once outside, the crisps are ripped open and the seagull is joined by other birds.
'Fine art'
Mr Nagarajan said: "He's got it down to a fine art. He waits until there are no customers around and I'm standing behind the till, then he raids the place.
"At first I didn't believe a seagull was capable of stealing crisps. But I saw it with my own eyes and I was surprised. He's very good at it.

The seagull takes the crisps outside and eats them
"He's becoming a bit of a celebrity. Seagulls are usually not that popular but Sam is a star because he's so funny."
A spokesman for RSPB Scotland said: "I've never heard of anything like this before.
"Perhaps it tried some crisps in a shiny packet in the street, and was just opportunistic one day at the shop when it saw what was inside.
"As everyone knows, gulls can be very quick and fearless, and clearly this one is no exception."
He added: "We'd discourage people from feeding gulls though, as gulls in towns generate lots of complaints every year, and the availability of food is the only reason they live in urban settings."

14 July 2007

hip hip hooray!!!

he did it!! noah walked! finally!! ok, all of 7 steps =) but he did it!! he took 4-5 steps going after micah at lunch time as micah had taken a cup off of him and noah wanted it back!! we couldn't believe it!! we were so excited! then after many attempts we got him to take another few steps...
but then the rest of the day its been crawling! oh well! atleast we have started and more will come!!

too early

yucky night! (last night that is) i went to bed early as my eye was really hurting...(it was very itchy, then really red from rubbing it, then swollen from all the above!) noah woke at 12 but went quickly back over. then was up again at 4ish i decided to five him some milk, which didn't really send him back to sleep. so we brought him into our own bed and he just rolled and rolled, didn't really cry just didn't go to sleep. i tried singing to him and putting him down in his cot to no avail. he woke up micah, who just crawled into bed with andy. i took noah downstairs to sit and he eventually went over, but as soon as i took him upstairs to his bed, he was up again. so andy took over and changed his nappy and i got him some more milk and that eventually knocked him out! so andy put him into bed at 5:30, but by then, i was wide awake! so i have been up, had a cup of tea, had a bowl of cereal and here i am! enjoying the peace!

london

we had a nice day out on saturday! andy had wanted to go to london for the beginning of the tour de france so off we went! we were out of the house for 6:45am! WOW. though we got to the train station and andy had forgotton our conformation number for our tickets, so had to go back home to get it while i stayed with the boys! oh well... its only about 8 minutes back to the house. so we were off, got the trains with no worries and boarded the train to london. it was packed! so we sat in the area where you can fit a wheelchair if needed, it wasn't too bad. a 2and a half hour journey i think, so we got into london euston around half10. it was a beautiful day (the first in like a month!!) and we enjoyed it all!
*photos to come*

Squirrel goes on rampage in Germany

Reuters - Thursday, June 14 01:12 pm
BERLIN (Reuters) - An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.

The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said on Thursday.
With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.

The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.

"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch."
The spokesman said experts thought the attack may have been linked to the mating season or because the squirrel was ill.
