a not so good day...

besides being a totally yucky rainy day today, its also been a terrible day financially for us. we went out at lunch time to get some lunch and to grocery shop. 10 minutes from our house, it felt like we had run over something, something flat like...or maybe felt like we had skimmed over something....i don't know. we just felt something so slight, you would have missed it. then andy realized that he had no acceleration but the brakes worked. we slowed down to turn onto the next road and andy realized that there was no power sterring either. we stopped along the side, he turned the engine off and it then wouldn't start again.

ofcourse, we have no break-down cover. terrible terrible terrible. our friend steve came and picked us up and took us home so andy could make some phone calls and see what we could do. so £130 later, RAC met andy at the car, (where andy had to cycle to as steve had to go to work!) told him the cam belt had broken or whatever and that it would cost £1500 to fix. yea. right. we don't have that just sitting around.

so we think we'll just sell it for £500 that is being offered and go without a car for a few weeks/ months until we can save some somehow and buy a new used car. or really i should say, just a used car. yuck, yuck and yuck. i hate money, i hate being a grown-up and everything else!

going to bed now and try not to think about what it all means....

an empty house

mimi and pop-pop left early this morning...so it was an almost empty house that micah woke up too! don't know what to do with ourselves, but eat the lollipops that mimi left behind!! mimi left some dum-dums, yet i can't find any rootbeer flavour ones!! so sad =)

mimi and pop-pop bought micah a new bike/trike/chopper. chopper is what we/they (americans) call the low rider or big wheels is what i remember having. but the seat flips over to be like a tricycle. its pretty cool.... micah can reach the petals, but only barely, so its not being peddled at the moment! but he loves it!! *as you can see* its a radio flyer which are *known* for their red wagons! would love to have one of those too some day!!

great day out!

we had a great time yesterday at drayton manor!! micah and noah were great and we all took turns watching watching them so i could go on the rides too! i loved it! the downside? it was hot and muggy and some of the rides we had to climb so*many*stairs!

micah on the other hand, didn't want to ride any*thing! ok, but the carousel! horses! do you want to ride the elephants? no. the cars? no. the green dragon? no. the helicopters? no. *you get the point?*

Kim was a big help and we had fun together!

we are getting ready to go out for the day...going to drayton manor!!! i so cannot wait =) it is a theme park with some very awesome rides! i haven't been in almost 2 years so it'll be good fun! we are going with some other young folk from our meeting and 2 others...there is also a zoo there so i'm sure micah and noah will have fun too!

*also* getting ready for my mom and dad!!! yippee! they fly out tonight and land tomorrow morning!! we can't wait! they are renting a car in manchester and driving down!! yippee skippee

and i should also add that andy is in the middle of writing up his reports which take ever so long to do!! its taken up almost all of his time! yuck!

caught in the rain

micah and i went to the park this afternoon. we weren't even there for 5 minutes when it started raining! just a little shower so we thought we'd stay put..and it was fine. then another 5-10 minutes later, it was pouring! chucking it down!! we tried to hide under a tree, but were still getting wet! so andy came to the rescue and picked us up...i had on sandals and that always is gross to get so wet!! all slimy and stuff!

here are some photos of noah this morning. he decided to walk down the stairs instead of crawling! he held on to the posts the whole way down and never stumbled! i was amazed...he isn't walking yet but he does down the stairs!!

its been raining and raining here. started wednesday afternoon, all day thursday and then friday afternoon as well. we managed to get out friday morning and back home again before the rain! what a relief!

in other news, my mom and dad are coming to visit this week! they'll be here on wednesday morning!! we can't wait!

still sick

still sick in this house...mostly with catarrah. no fevers and no croup-like cough. just coughing up the catararh *yuck* stuff and gagging a bit on it. no throwing up thankfully since yesterday morning either. micah slept through though noah woke in the night and after both andy and i trying to rock/sing him back to sleep, we just let him cry. i have no idea how long he cried, but it definitely felt like a good while like 30+minutes. i went in once more to turn the music mobile back on and tried laying him down again and rubbing his back for a minute then left him.

he was up again around 5ish so we got him his milk and andy brought him in with us as he didn't want to go back to sleep in the cot. andy got up at some point to go to work of which i never heard him or the alarm and noah, micah and i all slept till 5 past 8!

sleepless nights....

i *really* hope these boys get better soon as andy and i are tired! we want a full nights sleep again.
noah woke up around half 10 last night and just didn't want to go back to sleep. once we thought he was back to sleep and try to lay him down, he was back up again. at almost 11, he threw up just everything i think. he and micah both are just full of catarrah coughing and gaging. *yuck* and i think that is what caused this fun little time with noah. so we got him cleaned up and i layed down with him on our bed to no avail. he was awake and did not want to go back to sleep. i finally brought him downstairs so atleast andy could try and get a wee bit of sleep. he eventually fell asleep and i was able to carry him up and put him in his cot.

he woke up once more sometime in the night and i just brough him into bed as i was too tired to hold him and rock him. then i think micah must have woken up something probably just before the alarm and andy went to him. then we were all up around quarter to 7 as noah decided to wake up crying.

noah had his milk or some of it anyway, then decided to throw all that up too. i think that as well was filled with catarrah. both boys are coughing and lots of flem and micah's nose is just dripping away *as well*! what more could i wish for!

so today is going to be a wonderful day i am sure!!

sorry to say...

that while micah slept through the night with minimal coughing, noah this afternoon has a fever. so he's had one dose of calpol and hopefully that will help bring it down and he too won't get croup! what a way to celebrate a first birthday (tomorrow)!!

which by the way, anyone who has been wondering, we are going to celebrate on the 23rd of june when my mom and dad are here (they are coming in 2 weeks!!!!!!!). so no definite plans though for a party, it may just be a family thing. not sure though!

here are some photos since i don't have any from yesterday or today. these are from a few saturdays ago we went for a late afternoon drive. this is at a church yard in handbury. its beautiful country out there!!

the CROUP! i didn't even realize it still existed. oh well. they gave him some calpol once he was seen by the nurse to reduce his fever and then at midnight they gave him some steroids to calm the inflamation on the larnyx i believe it is. so they finally got home at 3:30am and straight to bed for micah. he slept with me and andy slept in micah's bed. he (micah) slept through the night no porblems with hardly any coughing.

please say a little prayer...

*i should have posted this last night...SATURDAY*
micah woke up with a barking cough this morning. it was really worrying and was along with a fever. though withing 30 minutes, it had calmed down and he was asking for a biscuit and was playing and laughing with us. just this evening the bark returned with the fever. we put him to bed as normal, gave him some calpol to reduce the fever too. but when andy went up 2 hours later, he was really really hot and starting to bark more. i've never been near or have heard the whooping cough, but that is when it makes me think of....all i have read or seen is from books and anne of green gables.

so andy has just taken micah to the childrens hospital as they have an A&E (accident and emergency)....

will update tomorrow morning as will probably be too tired to write anything tonight... *THANKS*

and on a side note, noah received his first *1st birthday* birthday card!

and noah received his first haircut!! it was so long in the back...now he's like a big boy! just in time for his birthday!!
